Plants or anything in life for that matter only grows in a specific environment. The right temperature, the right soil, right kind of nutrients, and the right amount of sunlight. Proper amount of sustaining factors that support the growth of a garden is necessary. Even buildings can only be built on ground that can support the building or house. The ground must be prepared, the materials gathered, and the proper manpower and skill are all required to build a house on a piece of property.
Any project, endeavor, or goal needs the right environment. For instance, if you have a goal of making a football team, you need a football, an area that resembles a playing field, and someone with skill to coach you. You need time to train and practice, a schedule and a commitment to that schedule. Not showing up for work, or not showing up for your appointments that you make, or not following through on commitments or agreements you make either with yourself or others will not help you. Who succeeds by not showing up for work?
Putting yourself in the right mindset, and recruiting the right resources both inner and outer are required to fulfill a goal. What resources will help support your goal? Are those resources people? Or are they things i.e. equipment? Or are they services such as graphic design, copywriting, or subcontracting etc. Your inner resources are your skills, character, and commitment. Perhaps you need to take a class in a specific technique in order to develop a skill, or maybe research to learn more about your goal. What is getting in the way of committing to a disciplined way of life, a dedicated time everyday to work on your goal. Maybe its people skills you need to learn or negotiation skills.
When you begin an endeavor in a naïve state, you can learn as you go. That is often called learning the hard way. Instead you want to be prepared. Get everything you need, ready. Get yourself focused. Have a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule. Have a list of phone numbers of people who you can call upon to contract services for their skills.
Put yourself around the people who already attained what you seek to attain. For example, success mastermind groups, toastmasters club, stop going to bars and getting drunk on the weekends, and start going to like minded group meet ups. Surround yourself with successful people. Talk to people around you about what you are trying to accomplish and ask what skills other people have to form allies or contract them for their skill set. Perhaps you can work out a trade.
Setting up the right environment that supports your growth, your goal attainment, your success is paramount in achieving any level of success. Palm trees will not grow in Canada, nor will Redwood trees grow in Alabama. Everything needs the right environment to grow and sustain.
If you want to get healthy, and all your hang our friends eat poorly and do not exercise or have positive mindset. Do you think you are going to have the support you need to lose weight and get healthy. Going to the gym, joining a group fitness class, hiring a personal trainer, a nutritionist, and making friends with people who are also on the health kick, will be much more conducive to getting healthy. Creating the right environment will not only help you achieve what you set out to achieve, but will also fuel your endeavor.
